Inaugurating the 4th edition of RESPACK 2025, the international conference on responsible packaging, Mr. Prabh Das, MD&CEO, HMEL, highlighted that the Indian packaging industry, already one of the largest in the world, is expected to cross USD 200 billion in value by the end of this decade. He reiterated that this growth must now be underpinned by innovation, circularity, and carbon-conscious design by embracing smarter geometries, modular formats, low-footprint structures and mono-materials that address not just packaging costs, but environmental costs as well along with an improvement in the customer experience. The conference was organised from June 2-3, 2025 at Mumbai by the Foundation for Innovative Packaging and Sustainability (FIPS) in association with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and the National Institute of Design, Madhya Pradesh (NIDMP), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
