HMEL’s Guru Gobind Singh Refinery at Bathinda became the first unit outside of the UK to get Five Star Rating in Process Safety Management Audit by the British Safety Council in March 2019. This is the highest rating that is awarded by British Safety Council to recognize the “Best in class” in Process Safety Management systems.
HMEL was certified as a Great Place to Work after an independent cultural survey and assessment of our policies and practices by Great Place to Work Institute. It is a great achievement for HMEL to be recognized among the industry stalwarts.
British Safety Council awarded Five Star Rating to HMEL for Excellence in Occupational Health and Safety Management in June 2016. A rare case of an organization getting the Five Star Rating in its first attempt.
HMEL received the ISO9001:2015 certification in July 2020 by TUV NORD for excellence in Quality Management System.
HMEL received the ISO14001:2015 certification in July 2020 by TUV NORD for excellence in Environment Management System.
HMEL Safety management system was recertified to the ISO 45001:2018 standards in March 2023 by TUV NORD, which was earlier certified to OHSAS 18001. ISO 45001 is the first global standard on Occupational Health & Safety, which was published in March 2018 by the-International Organization for Standardization.
