HPCL-Mittal Energy (HMEL) said it has crossed the 2 million tonne (mt) polymer sales mark during FY25, surpassing expectations and reinforcing its position as an industry trailblazer. HMEL has undertaken a massive expansion of around $3 billion in the field of petrochemicals, increasing its polypropylene capacity to 1 mt per annum (mtpa) and adding polyethylene capacity of 1.2 mtpa, catering to the major application segments. This was also the first full year of operations of a new plant featuring pioneering technologies from world-class licensors.

“Reaching this milestone underscores our commitment to understanding and meeting our customers’ unique needs,” said HMEL MD and CEO Prabh Das.

By understanding the latent customer requirements for niche applications—ranging from automotive and industrial manufacturing to specialised chemicals and high-performance materials—HMEL has been able to create tailored solutions.

Offering efficient customer services, AI-driven logistics infrastructure and providing doorstep delivery has positioned HMEL much ahead of the major industry peers in the market.
