Learning Week 5: Innovation in Action
The 5th HMEL Learning Week brought together employees, leaders, industry experts and innovators under the theme ‘Innovation in Action’. The week held from July 6–10, 2026, served as a vibrant platform for learning, collaboration and knowledge-sharing, reinforcing HMEL’s Innovation Vision of ‘Shaping the Future of HMEL through Everyday Innovation.’
The event commenced with inspiring messages from senior leadership, who emphasized that innovation thrives when individuals step outside their functional boundaries, learn from diverse perspectives and collaborate to solve real business challenges. Dr. Ashutosh Karnatak, Former Chairman & MD, GAIL, delivered the inaugural keynote address on the theme ‘Resilient Innovators’. Employees were encouraged to actively participate, share ideas and leverage platforms such as Project SANKALP 360 to translate innovative thinking into measurable business impact.
Mr. Federico Torti, Regional Head, World Economic Forum, shared insights on “Factories of the Future: Journey to Lighthouse – Scaling 4IR for Breakthrough Impact. HMEL’s turnaround success story and the leadership panel on “Decoding the China Innovation Playbook” further provided valuable insights into how organisations can accelerate growth through experimentation, customer-centricity, digital adoption and a commitment to continuous improvement.
The Learning Week concluded with a special recognition ceremony honouring employees who exemplified a commitment to learning and growth. Awards were presented to Learning & Development Role Models, Top E-Learners on LinkedIn Learning and winners of the Innovation Hour activity, celebrating individuals who have embraced continuous development and contributed to strengthening HMEL’s learning culture.
