HMEL recently concluded a one-of-a-kind initiative, ‘The Energy Quest,’ Quiz for 3rd & 4th year engineering students across top institutions in India. This initiative is part of the larger ‘Campus Connect,’ campaign, which aims to enhance industry-academia partnership and build knowledge about the energy sector. Witnessing impressive participation and engagement, the competition marked a significant milestone in its debut. The competition held from August 24-31, attracted close to 5000 students from 53 engineering colleges, including prestigious institutes such as IITs and NITs.
The first round of the virtual contest was designed to evaluate a diverse range of skills among students. This round garnered a substantial response, with 2,461 participants showcasing their proficiency. Out of these, 1,080 participants advanced to the second round, and 1,000 of them actively engaged in this subsequent phase.
Stretching over a month, the initiative received an overwhelmingly positive response, reflecting its success as a first-time endeavour. Throughout the competition, HMEL actively addressed numerous queries from participants, ensuring timely resolutions to enhance their experience.
The exciting content was clinched by Poorti Jain from MANIT, Bhopal; while Siddhant Tomar from NIT, Raipur and Sameer Pareek from NIT, Jalandhar stood as first and second runners up respectively with the remaining 24 recognized as top performers. The winners list included 4 students from IITs and 14 from NITs.
The overwhelming response to the Energy Quest has inspired HMEL to elevate the event even further. We are eager to build on this success and make future editions more impressive, challenging, and educational for students.
This initiative aims to foster a strong connection between students and the industry.
