Aditya Mittal - Chairman

Mr. Aditya Mittal is the Group CFO of ArcelorMittal and CEO of ArcelorMittal, Europe. Prior to his current role, he was the Chief Financial Officer of ArcelorMittal with responsibility of Investor Relations and Communications for Flat Carbon, Europe. He joined Mittal Steel in 1997 and was the President and CFO of Mittal Steel Company from 2004 to 2006. As CFO of Mittal Steel, he initiated and led Mittal Steel’s offer for Arcelor. Mr. Aditya Mittal was named ‘European Business Leader of the Future’ by CNBC Europe in 2008 and was ranked fourth in Fortune magazine’s ‘40 under 40’ list in 2011.

He is a Board Member of the Wharton School and also serves on the Board of Iconiq. He is also a significant supporter of the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and works closely with UNICEF, focusing on children’s healthcare in India. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Wharton School in Pennsylvania, US.

Mukesh Kumar Surana

Mr. Mukesh Kumar Surana, has taken charge as Chairman & Managing Director - Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited effective April 01, 2016. Prior to this, he served as Chief Executive Officer, Prize Petroleum Company Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary and upstream arm of HPCL since September 2012.

A Mechanical Engineer with Master’s degree in Financial Management, Mr. Surana joined HPCL in the year 1982. During his career spanning over 33 years in Petroleum Industry, Mr. Surana has handled a wide range of responsibilities including leadership positions in Refineries, Corporate, Information Systems and upstream business of HPCL. He has been closely involved in Strategy Formulation, Business Process Re-engineering, Major Projects Implementation, Refinery Operations, Corporation wide ERP Implementation, Acquisition and Management of upstream assets etc.

Mr. Surana has vast experience in domestic and international Oil & Gas business and is known for his business acumen, innovative ideas and people-centric leadership. In his various roles, he has been able to empower teams to perform and deliver exceptional results through positive engagement and a shared vision. He was a Core Team Member for Corporate wide ERP implementation in HPCL which now forms the backbone of all business transactions at HPCL.

A certified Competency Assessor and a Project Management Professional, Mr. Surana has also been actively associated with various important industry forums in Oil & Gas Sector.

Rajan Tandon

Mr. Rajan Tandon is Vice President-in-charge of Finance and Accounts at Mittal Investments and has over 30 years of industrial experience. Prior to this he was Director-in-charge of Finance and Accounts at Mittal Steel. He has been a leading member of the Corporate Finance Team. He has also served as Treasurer for LNM Holdings NV until its merger with Ispat International in December 2004. With a 26 year career within the Mittal Steel Group, he has held various positions in Finance and Accounting within the Group.

Mr. Tandon is an Honours Graduate in Accounting and Commerce from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata and a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Member of The Institute of Internal Auditors. He also serves on the Board of various Group Companies.

J. Ramaswamy

Mr. J. Ramaswamy is the Director-Finance of HPCL with effect from October 1, 2015. Prior to this he was Executive Director- Corporate Finance of HPCL for over 2 years.
A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Mr. Ramaswamy brings with him rich experience of over 3 decades in handling various challenging assignments in HPCL in the field of Corporate Finance, Marketing Finance, SBU Commercial, C&MD’s Office, Internal Audit, Vigilance, System & Procedures, and Refinery Finance.

Mr. Ramaswamy has expertise in Financial Management, and is known for strengthening financial discipline, cost consciousness and commercial acumen in the Corporation, which is of immense benefit to the organization. He is also credited with effective treasury management in raising External Commercial Borrowing, Debentures and various other types of financial instruments at a very competitive interest rate as compared with the Industry.

He has various academic distinctions to his credit, and is a key technical speaker in in-house capability building seminars and workshops.

Mr. Philippe Darmayan

Since 1 January 2015, Philippe Darmayan is President of ArcelorMittal France. He is also Chairman of the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF), President of the French Steel Federation (FFA) and President of the Group of French Industrial Federation (GFI)

Philippe Darmayan spent his whole career in metallurgy (nuclear fuel, aluminium, carbon steel and stainless steel).

He was Chief Executive Officer of Aperam from 2011 to 2014 after being Executive Vice- President, member of ArcelorMittal's Management Committee and Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal Distribution and Solutions (AMDS) from 2005 to 2011.

Philippe Darmayan is a graduate of HEC Paris. Philippe Darmayan is a citizen of France.

Mr. Vinod S. Shenoy

Mr. Vinod S Shenoy took charge as Director - Refineries HPCL effective November 1, 2016 and has been co-opted on the Board of HMEL. Prior to this he was the General Manager - Refineries Coordination of HPCL.

A Bachelor in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay, Mr.Vinod Shenoy started his career with HPCL in June 1985. During his career spanning over 31 years, Mr. Shenoy has held various positions in the Refinery Divisions and Corporate Departments of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and has wide exposure to the Petroleum Industry.

Mr. Arun Balakrishnan

Mr. Arun Balakrishnan is the founder Chairman of HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd. and is currently a member of the Board. He was the Chairman & Managing Director of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd till July 31, 2010 and was responsible for the formation and development of HMEL & HMPL.

Currently, Mr. Balakrishnan is on the Boards of a number of companies as Independent Director besides being a Member of the Board of Governors, University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun and a Trustee of Bangalore Little Theatre. He is also the immediate past President of Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering.

A Chemical Engineer with a Post Graduate Diploma from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, he is the recipient of the "Distinguished Alumni Award 2008" from his alma-mater. In the recent past, the All India Management Association has conferred a fellowship and the Institute of Engineers (India) has presented a Scroll of Honour for recognition 'of his outstanding contribution to the profession of Chemical Engineering'.

At HPCL, Mr. Balakrishnan introduced a number of contemporary people management initiatives. As a result the Corporation came to be acknowledged as one of the 'Best Employers in India -2004' in the study conducted by Hewitt Associates and CNBC - TV 18. Under his leadership, HPCL was also the recipient of 'Award for Best Work Place Practices' by Asian Forum for Corporate Social Responsibility, Philippines in 2004. HPCL also received the Golden Peacock National Training Award for 2005 and an award for Commitment to Building and Learning Organisation by Peter Senge in 2006.

Mr. Avinash Chander Mahajan

Mr. Avinash Chander Mahajan has done his M.Sc. (Chemistry Hons.) in 1972 and thereafter joined Bank of India as an officer. He is a career banker with over 38 years of varied experience in various Public Sector Banks in India and abroad. He held various senior level positions in Bank of India viz. in charge- ‘Integrated Treasury’; General Manager In-Charge-Credit Department; General Manager-Risk Management Department; Chief Executive, Japan branch etc. He had also worked in Kenya for five years as in charge of Nairobi branch.

Thereafter, he held various top level positions such as Executive Director-Bank of Baroda in 2005, C&MD-Allahabad Bank and thereafter C&MD- Canara Bank from where he superannuated in August 2010.

In the recent past he has been the Independent Director of HPCL and besides being on the Board of various companies, Mr. Mahajan is the Chairman of Governing Council of Banking Codes and Standards Board of India (BCSBI).

Dr. Vaijayanti Ajit Pandit

Dr. Vaijayanti Pandit, Advisor Welingkar Institute of Management, is former Senior Director FICCI and headed FICCI West from 2006-12, before that she was Vice President-Public Affairs, Adfactors PR, Mumbai. She has a PhD in Management Studies with specialization in Entrepreneurship Development from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies(2001) and Masters in Political Science from University of Pune (1975). Dr. Pandit topped the Pune University for graduation and has a diploma in Journalism with silver medals in Writing and Reporting from University of Mumbai.

Dr. Pandit has spearheaded Gender Empowerment Projects for International Labour Organization (ILO) Geneva and has travelled to more than 40 countries with Business Delegations. She is the recipient of the Maharashtra Gaurav Puraskar for outstanding research in Entrepreneurship.

She has authored Business @ Home published by Vikas Publishing House in 2001 and Everyday Yoga by Himalaya Publishing House in 2012. She is an Independent Director on listed Companies and Public ltd companies including subsidiaries of Tata Motors Ltd. She is on the Board of the one of the largest NGO Pratham.

Mr. Prabh Das

Mr. Prabh Das is a B. Tech (Hons.) from IIT, Kharagpur. He has also completed his Master of Business Administration from Southern Cross University, Australia. Mr. Prabh Das is originally from the Indian Administrative Service and has over 25 years of vast, diverse and wide-ranging experience in administration and management.

Prior to joining HMEL, Mr. Prabh Das worked as Joint Secretary in Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas from 2003 to March 2008. Mr. Prabh Das was in charge of the Refineries Division and was instrumental in implementing the Auto Fuel Policy, Strategic Storage and New Initiatives in Oil Diplomacy. He led the transformation of the domestic refining sector which included strengthening refining capacities, improving refining operations, safety aspects and introduction of new technologies.

During his tenure in the ministry, he was on the Board of fortune 500 companies such as Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. He was also on the Board of Mangalore Refineries and Petrochemicals Ltd., Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd. and Engineers India Ltd.
